Mexican Conjunto music is a style of music that originated in south Texas at the end of the 19th century. It is dance music that tells the stories of the everyday lives of the Mexican-American working class. Conjunto music has always called southern Texas and northern Mexico its home base, but many Mexican-Americans throughout the country embrace Conjunto, including the state of Minnesota.
Join us for the 2025 Conjunto Showcase en Minnesota concert and dance. A good old-fashioned baile! The 225 Event Center has partnered with us to bring another great night of Conjunto music to St. James! Featuring live performances from two of Minnesota's premier Conjunto groups: Nieves Del Norte and Los Rebeldes. Nieves Del Norte and Los Rebeldes.
Taqueria Las 3 Lunas food truck will be onsite selling food, Plaza Jalisco will be selling drinks, Unique Items by April will be selling Mexican candies and treats, and Face Painting by DaNiella will be painting the kid's faces!

La música de Conjunto Mexicano es un estilo que se originó en el sur de Texas a finales del siglo XIX. Es música bailable que cuenta las historias de la vida cotidiana de la clase trabajadora méxico-americana. Aunque el Conjunto siempre ha tenido su base en el sur de Texas y el norte de México, muchos méxico-americanos en todo el país lo han adoptado, incluyendo el estado de Minnesota.

Step into the vibrant heart of conjunto music with the Conjunto Showcase en Minnesota: celebrating música Mexicana y Tejana.
Join in the fun on Saturday, October 19, when the doors open at 5 PM at 480 Arts located at 480 Prior Avenue North in St. Paul. It promises to be an unforgettable evening of Conjunto and Tejano featuring the sensational Grupo Mio with Saul Hernandez, Tex-Mex favorites Los Rebeldes, and Grammy Award-winning artists Los Texmaniacs.
Drinks, a food truck by El Burrito Mercado, and plenty of dancing will make the evening extra special. And don’t miss out on VIP tickets for an enhanced experience!

Únase a la diversión el sábado 19 de octubre, cuando las puertas se abran a las 5 p.m. en 480 Arts ubicado en 480 Prior Avenue North en St. Paul. Promete ser una velada inolvidable de conjunto y tejano con el sensacional Grupo Mío con Saúl Hernández, los favoritos del Tex-Mex Los Rebeldes y los artistas ganadores del Grammy Los Texmaniacs.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund that was created with the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, as well as the Folk Will Save Us Culture Ambassadors project that is funded in part by the Minnesota Humanities Center with money from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Conjunto Workshop
Max Baca is a legend on the bajo sexto, and Josh Baca is fast attaining legendary status on the accordion. Those two instruments create the core of the lively Conjunto sound. Learn about the history and traditions of Conjunto music and how the bajo sexto and accordion play integral roles in the music. Max and Josh will share the classic Conjunto sound with attendees at this workshop.
This event is completely FREE, but space is limited to the first 60 registrants!
Fiesta & Street Dance
Jackson Center for the Arts and the Conjunto Showcase en Minnesota are teaming up to bring a Conjunto music fiesta to Jackson, Minnesota!
There will be a samples of chips and salsa, a wide variety of Mexican and Latin cuisine, and live music from Los Rebeldes.
This is a FREE event for all, but any free will donation to the Jackson Center for the Arts is appreciated.
